A Rare Beatle
The Beatles could lay claim to being the most influential band of the 20th century. So when an original tape of the Fab Four performing in 1962 at the famous Cavern Club in Liverpool is discovered in a desk drawer after 50 years, it is big news. The recording is of the band performing a rendition of Some Other Guy in September 1962, just weeks before they released their first single. It is one of only five copies made, one of which fetched £16,000 at auction in 1993. The latest find is due to be sold at auction too and it will be interesting to see what the rate of inflation has been over the last 22 years for lost old Beatles recordings. Could be the owner’s Ticket to Ride.
