Question: what did a South Korean cleaner find in a rubbish bin at Incheon International Airport: A) a box of abandoned kittens; B) gold bars; or C) a laptop containing government secrets? Answer: B, seven gold bars worth a total 350 million won (£240,000) that were wrapped up in newspapers. The cleaner could well have cleaned up for according to Korea’s Lost Articles Act legislation, if the owner of the 1kg bars does not come forward within the next six months and it is confirmed that the gold is not connected to criminal activity, then the finder will have a legal claim on between 5% and 20% of the gold’s total value. That equates to a maximum of 70 million won (£48,000; $65,000). It’s amazing what people throw away these days.
