Good Job
Congratulations to Amazon which has broken the 5,000 new job barrier in the UK alone for 2016. For on top of the 3,500 jobs announced so far this year, the retailer will have another 1,500 positions to fill when a new packing centre in Tilbury’s dock area in Essex opens in 2017. Amazon’s Vice President of UK operations, John Tagawa, said the new fulfilment centre will help it “continue to expand product selection” and “support more third party sellers including small businesses” by dispatching goods on their behalf. Thurrock Council is hoping the new centre will “act as the catalyst to secure investment in transport links” and “improve the local environment”. A win win all round.
