Just The Ticket
Have you ever bought a lottery ticket and forgot to check if your numbers had come in? Martin Crighton from Boxford in Suffolk has. A month after the draw for which he had bought a ticket, the 44 year old still hadn’t checked to see if he was the lucky winner. And perhaps he would never have got round to it if he hadn’t read an article about a “missing millionaire” in the area who had yet to claim his/her £1million lottery jackpot. The article prompted the gardener to retrieve the ticket from his wallet. And hey presto he was that very “missing millionaire”. The first thing he did was head to his local pub, The Brewers Arms. Not to have a celebratory drink but to ask his best friend, landlord Shaun Davis, to check he wasn’t seeing things, “I just couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I asked Shaun to check again for me and he confirmed that I was now £1m richer. I guess I really still cannot believe it,” he said. “Life will just be so much easier now.” Mr Crighton who lives in rented accommodation plans to buy his own house and take a break in the north Norfolk coast, but he said he intends to continue working as a gardener, “I am just delighted I will never have any money worries ever again,” he said. Moral of the story: check lottery ticket numbers… after all it could be you.
