Cagey
When staff at Gatwick Airport’s pet reception presented Ian and Sue Lees with an empty cage, they must have feared they would never see their Dinky again. The couple had last seen the ragdoll cat in that very same cage thousands of miles away in the cargo area of Dubai Airport where Dinky, along with the couple’s other cat, were to be loaded onto a flight back to the UK. Not knowing if Dinky was still on the plane, wondering around Gatwick, or still in Dubai, locating Dinky was going to be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Mrs Lees however had a theory. As his cage was clean, she was convinced Dinky never left Dubai. “I know what a mess he makes and there was no mess in that cage,” she said. And she was right. The couple’s daughter, who lives in Dubai, set up a page on Facebook to try and locate the missing moggy and hey presto a rescue centre in Dubai eventually got in touch with the family with the news that they had Dinky. More than two months later, the Lees have got their Dinky back home in Northamptonshire. They must have felt like the cat who the got the cream.
