Out Of The Darkness
Former member of rock band The Darkness rejoins the group after three year break. The previously publicity shy fifth member of the band is unlikely to join his bandmates on stage however, as it is none other than Cully, a Bengal cat, which belongs to lead singer Justin Hawkins. Cully went missing three years ago from Hawkins’ home in Lowestoft in Suffolk. It seems the cat was never too far away as Cully was found wandering the streets of the coastal town. The cat was taken to the Anglia Coastal Branch of Cats Protection where a scan of her microchip revealed her famous owner. Branch coordinator Delphine Wood said “When the owner’s details came up, I thought the name sounded familiar as my boyfriend is a fan…I was just relieved there was a phone number and it was up to date. I contacted Justin and he was so thrilled to hear Cully was alive, fit and well. It was clear how much Cully meant to him.” The singer himself said “I always knew in my heart that she was still alive…She’s always loved the great outdoors. I periodically checked in with the relevant databases and kept my details up-to-date because I knew this day would come.” As he himself famously belted out “I Believe In A Thing Called Love”.
