It’s amazing what you can learn from the internet these days. Just ask the eight year boy from Ohio in the US who went to McDonalds to get a burger. For the boy did not walk to the nearest outlet of the burger chain, he drove his parents’ car. According to police reports the boy said he learnt to drive thanks to watching videos on YouTube. Either the boy is a fast learner or the videos he watched were very thorough, as witnesses who saw the youngster driving through the town with his little sister in the passenger seat said he stopped at traffic lights and didn’t break any laws. “He didn’t hit a single thing on the way there. It was unreal,” added police officer Jacob Koehler from the village of East Palestine. In all the boy drove for 1.5 miles, passed through four intersections, executed a number of turns and even crossed railway tracks before he pulled up alongside the drive-through window of the restaurant where staff believed it was all part of an elaborate prank. Police notified the boys’ parents who it turns out had been fast asleep at home. All was not lost for the children however, for while they were waiting for their parents to take them home, they tucked into cheeseburgers and chicken nuggets. Mission accomplished.
