When a group of five friends who were travelling around Moray in Scotland on a whisky tour came across a building on fire, they could have been forgiven for thinking the Scotch was messing with their eyes. Their eyes however were not deceiving them and thanks to their quick reactions the fab five helped saved the life of a woman in her 60s or 70s who was trapped inside the chalet near Tomintoul. After spotting smoke coming out of a vent from the single-storey wooden property and hearing the woman shouting for help, the five men first called the emergency services before smashing their way in to rescue her. One of the five, 56 year old John Kinsey from North Tawton in Devon, recalled what happened “We stopped the car and ran over. I rang the emergency services, while the other lads went to check the building. They heard a lady shouting for help. The door was locked so they used a big plant pot to break in. We got her outside and the whole thing just went up in flames in about 10 minutes.” Bet they needed a wee dram or two after that!
