Bride Groomin Marvellous
Official photographers at weddings go to great lengths to get perfect shots of the happy couple. The man behind the camera at the wedding of Clayton and Brittany Cook in Ontario, Canada certainly got the perfect picture, not of the newlyweds but of the groom dramatically rescuing a boy from a river. Mr Cook picks up the story, ‘We were walking through Victoria Park just doing photos at random locations and there were three small kids following us around for five or 10 minutes…and I was just keeping an eye on them because they were standing close to the water’. Lucky he did, for one of the boys ended up in the water. ‘I was able to jump down on a rock and reach out and scoop him up…His face was underwater and he was fighting, like he was really fighting,’ he told CTV News. ‘Luckily, he was only a little guy and I just sort of hopped him up.’ With a trigger happy photographer around, there was no danger the groom’s heroics would not be recorded for posterity and a picture of him helping the boy to shore has since gone viral. Photographer Darren Hatt said: ‘His quick action saved the little guy who was struggling to swim. Well done sir!’ As for the bride, at first she thought her husband was larking around. ‘I look over and I see Clay in the water and I think, what is he doing?’ said Brittany. ‘That’s Clay, like that’s Clay to me…It’s something he would just instinctively do.’ Who needs a best man with a groom like that?
