Flight delays are not known to bring a smile to the faces of those having to while away the hours in the departure lounge. But that could all be set to change, after footage of a traveller grabbing a microphone and belting out a hit R&B tune was viewed more than 15 million times on social media. The impromptu performance of Blackstreet’s 1996 US No.1 hit “No Diggity” complete with slick dance moves, took place at Gate B7 at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. And it went down a treat if the cheers of fellow passengers were anything to go by. Even the check-in staff got stuck in and provided the back-up vocals. Unsurprisingly, the man received rave reviews on social media. A Dottie Moffitt posted: ‘I love seeing strangers, laughing and enjoying the moment together. We all aren’t that different, at the end of the day.’ Brandy McClain Hallock added: ‘He is great. Too cool! What a fun thing to do at a crowded gate.’ Another, Michelle Linne, said: ‘How is this guy not married?? (I didn’t see a ring)’, while Michael Scott Randall wrote: ‘I’ve witnessed a few performances at this gate in person. It always cheers up the travel(l)ers. Shout out to these gate attendants for their positive actions.’ Must be something in the air at Gate B7.
