Off The Bottle
A Mr Anthony Favors from Buffalo in New York is living proof that out of adversity comes triumph. Whenever the 31 year old found himself home alone with his baby daughter Lily’ahna, it is fair to say feeding time was something of an ordeal. For while Lily’ahna readily fed from her mother Shalanda, she refused to be bottle fed, leaving Mr Favors at a loss as to what to do when his wife was out at work. Not anymore. It was when Lily’ahna was five months old, that the chef came up with a novel solution. By cutting a small hole in his shirt and placing the teat of a bottle filled with Mrs Favors’ breast milk through the hole, he created the manboob. It worked. According to her father, Lily’ahna ‘loved it’ and what’s more it has ‘made me feel so much closer to my baby girl,’ said Mr Favors. ‘I’ve always had trouble feeding Lily’ahna because she is a very fussy baby…I’d always feel so useless and wished there was something I could do to help. When I was taking care of her, she’d constantly be grabbing my chest and just shook her head at the bottle…she would get so frustrated and start crying…One day I just had enough’ he added. ‘I cut a hole in my shirt and stuck the top of the bottle through…She was really confused at first, but after I poured some milk out she realised what it was and started drinking…She absolutely loved it and it made her really happy. She went straight to sleep…I felt like the best dad in the entire world.’ The manboob has made Mr Favors appreciate what his wife and mother of his four other children does, ‘I see my wife breastfeed and I can see how hard it is. I’m so proud of her and everything she does. It makes me feel so good that I can give her a break from that and she doesn’t need to worry when she needs to head out or go to work.’ As for Lily’ahna, Mr Favors added, ‘When she looks up at me with those eyes while she is feeding I can see how much she adores me.’ So there you have it fortune does Favor(s) the bold.
