Rescue On The South West Express
An 11 year old schoolgirl had a lucky escape after she was dragged onto railway tracks by a moving train at Camborne Railway Station in Cornwall. According to eyewitnesses, she grabbed a carriage door handle while the train was still pulling into the station and was almost instantly dragged under the train and onto the tracks. Thanks to the quick reactions of a stranger who managed to pull her out from under the train, a tragedy was averted. Remarkably the girl just had minor injuries to her back and legs. Better to be safe than sorry, she was airlifted to the Royal Cornwall Hospital where she spent the night before being allowed to go home the next day, presumably by car.
