Police in Australia had an unusual call out: to track down nine men who had been filmed riding park benches on public roads in Perth, Western Australia. With footage of the men rolling through an intersection on motorised tables going viral, the prank clearly provided an amusing spectacle for both eye – witnesses and online viewers alike. The Police however were not so amused and sought to point out the many dangers involved as “Police are concerned for the safety of those riding on the tables with no protective clothing, especially when on roads alongside motor vehicles” posted Western Australian police on Facebook. When they eventually caught up with the runaway bench, police spoke to the men and let them off with a warning. Hopefully lesson learned. It appears however that park benches are not the only strange vehicles found on Australia’s roads and footpaths: there have been reports of a motorised cooler box and an unlicensed ice box. The lengths people go to when they have run out of ice.
