In Seve(r)nth Heaven
Congratulations to Kevin Brady who has become the first person to swim the length of the longest river in the UK. In a remarkable feat of endurance it took the 32 year old adventurer one month to swim the 220 miles of the River Severn during which he had to battle through treacherous currents, overcome violent bouts of river belly and even navigate past dead sheep. Despite all that Mr Brady said he was “sad it was over”. His aquatic adventure began at the river’s source in Powys, Wales and saw him swim through Shropshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire all the way to the Severn Estuary and eventually to the finishing line on the Severn Beach. It is not the first time that Mr Brady has put himself through the paces: last year he spent 140 days canoeing the entire length of the Mississippi River in the US. Hmmm…the editor wonders what’s next for the adventurer.
