A woman’s handbag can contain all manner of items: wallet; hairbrush; make-up; tissues; a packet of mints; and even an unclaimed £1million-winning National Lottery ticket.  Well at least the last item on the list was found inside the bag of a mother of three from Dundee who had no idea that her numbers had come in several weeks earlier in the Lotto Millionaire.  When Shaheen Akhtar finally got round to checking the ticket she “couldn’t believe her luck”.  Mrs Akhtar added “I came home and started to call my family to let them know the good news.  Most of them were in disbelief and asked things like ‘are you mad?’  Once I explained that I really had won everyone was really happy for me.” As for what she and her husband intend to spend their winnings on, a bigger home and a trip to Dubai are high up on the list.  Presumably there are no plans to buy a new lucky handbag.
