Dogs aren’t the only animals that are loyal to their human families. Cats, parrots, cockatoos are among other animals that can become closely attached to their owners. And it appears so too do eagle owls after a 14 month old Eurasian owl called Sox somehow escaped from the clutches of thieves who had snatched her 24 hours earlier and what’s more found her way back home to her owner, a Mr Randall Carey, in Powys, Wales. The 66 year old retired falconer must have thought he would never set eyes on the young bird of prey again when he realised Sox had been taken from a locked shed. So imagine his delight when she made it safely back to Llanfihangel-nant-Melan, near Llandrindod Wells where Mr Carey and his partner Jacqui Kane live with a number of other birds he brought with him following his retirement from the falconry centre he ran near Gatwick Airport, “…to get her back is fantastic”, said Mr Carey. See that’s what happens when animals are taken good Carey of.
