There is just no knowing when a hero may be called into action. Sometimes there is not even enough time to get dressed properly. Just ask the man in southern Norway who stopped a thief from stealing his car wearing only his underwear. The 25 year old owner was first alerted to the attempted theft in the early hours of the morning in Kristiansand when he heard his car engine revving up. He rushed outside in just a pair of boxer shorts and grabbed one of the car door handles. He refused to let go and when the thief tried to shake him off by driving away into the snow, the owner climbed onto the roof of the VW Passat and held onto the rails as the car sped off. The owner not only held on for several kilometres, despite the car reaching speeds of up to 56mph, he also managed to smash the back window with his knee and then grapple the thief until the car hit a safety barrier. Local police chief Jan Nesland said “[Actor] Bruce Willis wouldn’t have managed that…It’s not something we would advise people to do, but now that he’s done it – well, it’s an incredible story”. It certainly is but one small tip for our anonymous hero, perhaps he should go to sleep wearing pyjamas.
