You are kindly requested to read this story quietly to yourself as part of it is set in a library. A librarian from Northampton went beyond the call of duty after he bought a book for a customer who had waited two months for it to arrive. What’s more he cycled to the woman’s house to hand deliver the book to her along with a handwritten letter. The woman named Abigail posted the letter on Facebook and wrote “Nice…there are still genuine people out there. He bought the book himself for me.” In the letter the librarian wrote “I am sorry for the delay in ordering this book for you. Thank you for being patient with the library service…you can keep the book if you like. It is only one that I have bought second hand. I don’t think it is suitable for the library anyway. It’s up to you, you can return it to me if you don’t want it. Hope it is not too late in getting it to you.” A spokesman for the library service said “It’s great to hear some wonderful feedback from one of our satisfied customers.” Seems the librarian is in his employer’s good books.
