Getting married typically ranks highly in terms of being among the most memorable of days for the happy couple. Doubly so for a Ms Dannie Mountford from Rowley Regis in the West Midlands. For as well as tying the knot with her now husband Carl, the 19 year old, who was 36 weeks and two days pregnant, went into labour on her wedding day: ‘One second I was dancing with my new husband, and the next I was giving birth to my little girl…We hadn’t even cut the cake yet…We left the reception at roughly 10.30pm to head to the hospital’, recalled the bride. And just as well she did as weighing in at 6lbs 4oz, baby Jasmine was born in the early hours of the following morning. ‘It was such a big surprise, but it’s made our wedding day even more memorable and will always be extra special’. As for the guests, according to Ms Mountford: ‘some family members stayed for the rest of the reception. The DJ was still playing as I was leaving the venue and people were still finishing their drinks’. Well as the saying goes, the party must go on.
